SUMMER 2019

TBD - This includes lodging in central London, a transportation pass for the duration of the program, and admission to several cultural activities. Not included:  $50 registration fee, meals, airfare, required cell phone, local travel outside of the program, laundry, personal expenses, personal weekend travel or other costs.
FUNDING
A limited number of $500-$1,750 need-based scholarships are also available. Applications will be evaluated according to a student's financial need and an essay describing the possible significance of this experience to their academic and professional development. Deadlines are posted on the Travel Grant Form.

COURSES OFFERED
Tentative course offerings for Summer 2019:

  STS 11: Technology and Human Values: The British Model (3 credits) 

  HMS/STS 196: Comparative US-UK Healthcare Systems (3 credits) 
 
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Students will spend four weeks in London studying healthcare and/or technology.  Included in the price of the program is a transportation pass for the full length of the program.
LOCATION
The city of London is an ideal location for studying healthcare and technology.  The country's capital is the home of the UK's National Healthcare System (NHS) and has seen extreme changes in technology over the past 200 years.
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS
Students will be responsible to make and pay for their own travel arrangements. We will notify students of the professors’ travel plans and highly recommend they make their travel plans to correspond with the professors. Students will live in a student residence hall in the King's Cross neighborhood with double rooms and shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
